Hello,
Thank you for stopping by and visiting my website. My name is Jessica Johanna (my first name & middle name). My family calls me "JJ" - my friends and clients call me "Jess." I was born and raised in California but have called North Carolina my home for the last 20 years.
I earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UNC Charlotte. I am a Published Author, Motivational Speaker, and a Certified Life & Relationship Coach. However, my most treasured title is simply "mom" to my three amazing sons. Julian 24, is an entrepreneur working in real estate. Nathan 19, is a full-time college student & works at Chick-Fil-a (yum!), and Christian, my baby boy, is 14 (feisty & independent) and is in the 9th grade.
Why I Do What I Do?
I know how it feels to hurt. I know how it feels to lose absolutely everything and then smile (because the kids are watching), and do everything in your power to pick yourself up again and start from scratch. I have experienced the pain of abuse, trauma, injustice, uncertainty, fear, divorce, grief, and loss. I began my journey of emotional healing many, many, years ago. On that journey, I discovered self-love and forgiveness. I discovered inner peace. I discovered freedom, strength, and resilience. Simply put, I discovered what was always WITHIN me - My Living Purpose.
Today, I help my clients discover how to love themselves, forgive themselves, believe in themselves, and allow themselves to live the meaningful, purposeful, and abundant life we ALL deserve to live.
Yes, I will ask you the hard and uncomfortable questions. I will challenge your inconsistency and incongruence and I will invite you to go beyond the surface to get to the real issues, as we explore who you are, who you want to be & what you want. I will celebrate your wins, your personal growth, and emotional milestones and become your biggest fan and fondest supporter.

When I am not helping my clients, you can find me spending time with my sons and my beautiful Morkie, Luna or snuggled up reading the latest best-selling psychological thriller or watching the latest hit on Netflix. I also love to travel and make it a point to travel internationally at least 2 or 3 times a year. I decided long ago that I would not live as a victim but instead as a victor. I decided that I would not merely exist but I would fully thrive & love everything I do. Although, I am a Christian, I work daily with clients of different faiths, beliefs, and walks of life. I offer a judgement free, diverse, equitable, and inclusive space for ALL. I myself am Latina, and speak fluent Spanish. ¡En este espacio, todos son beinvenidos!
